Translucent glassine bags have long been favored as packaging for Chinese noodles and cookies. They are also used to package popcorn, caramel corn, and for some industrial applications. While possessed of some grease resistance, this is functional not apparent. In other words glassine will hold most grease but it will not hide it unless used as a liner. This paper is naturally degradable when exposed to sun, water, or wind. It is commercially compostable where facilities are available and recyclable where facilities are available. They are also PFAS Free.
